The organisers of Subcon 2014 are hoping for another bumper year. Last year, Subcon 2013 experienced a 64 per cent increase in the number of visitors through the door. More than 4000 people turned up and it’s hoped that even more will flock to the NEC, Birmingham, for Subcon 2014.
What’s at Subcon 2014
The UK’s only show of its kind, Subcon 2014 will once more run alongside the new Advanced Manufacturing Show and The Engineer Conference. The show is aimed at showcasing the latest technology and the finest manufacturing services in the world dedicated to contract and subcontract manufacturing.
Subcon 2014 will, once again, offer the opportunity to speak with hundreds of suppliers and discover new subcontracting solutions or manufacturing techniques. New for this year is the Subcon Electronics Zone – building on the growing number of contract electronic manufacturers at the show and providing a focus for future growth.
The Engineer Conference will once again be a high-level event focused on innovation and design in manufacturing. It will also include the popular Subcon Seminar programme. Top speakers already lined up include Dr Hamid Mughal, Director of Manufacturing at Rolls-Royce plc and Steven Barr, Head of MAS (The Manufacturing Advisory Service).
Grant Burgham, Business Development and Portfolio Director at Centaur Exhibitions, said: “The resurgence in British manufacturing is evident in the confidence of our exhibitors. We are looking forward to a great show and a great conference highlighting some of the real success stories from across all sectors.”
Simon Jones, CEO of PRV Engineering, has been a long time supporter of the event and said; “We first attended Subcon six years ago and have had a stand at the show ever since. We feel that by being part of Subcon, we can showcase our advancement, our new products, our equipment and development. On top of that, attending the show enables me to look for a certain type of customer to add to our portfolio.”
“I am looking for one or two new customers a year because I want to add a significant value to the business that we can grow with.”
