Successful engineering companies use a combination of
expert knowledge, experience and continuous investment in machinery and staff.
Custom fabrication services require all of these elements and more as quality
and production costs are the top priority. Custom fabrication is a specialist
process whether you’re machining steel or aluminium.
Metal fabrication, for example, involves a wide range
of skills and disciplines from profiling, bending and forming, cropping, welding
to assembly and finishing. While technology, machinery and computer-aided
design software have led to advanced custom fabrication services, there is still
no substitute for experience.
Deep hole drilling, often referred to as gun-drilling,
is a highly-specialised machining operation that only a select few engineering
companies can perform. This method is used when high-precision round bores are vital
to the operation. It produces holes that can be controlled within very tight
tolerances, giving much greater accuracy compared to conventional drilling
Silver plating refers to the process of covering a conductive surface with silver to prevent corrosion while adding a lustrous shine to it. Not that silver plating is all about looks and it certainly doesn’t mean second on the podium either. In fact, it’s the best metal for conducting electricity which makes it a popular choice for electronics and semiconductors. We believe that silver plating is a critical Continue reading →
Over the past few decades, abrasive waterjet cutting have evolved significantly. From a relatively crude cutting tool in the early 1980’s to a more sophisticated machine tool used in various sectors ranging from aerospace, mining to the food industry. This evolution is mainly due to better material development, more efficient system design, improved control of the waterjet tool and the progression to achieve higher pressure. Continue reading →
Motorsport engineering sales are in the ascendancy. Over half of the specialist high precision engineering companies that cater for this exclusive market, have reported increased sales year on year according to figures released by the MIA (Motorsport Industry Association). The MIA’s report states that 10% of suppliers realised increases of over 50%. It is clearly a trend that is bucking that of UK manufacturing sector as a whole. Continue reading →
